In this tutorial, we will learn how to display country statistics using the 3D model feature available in the latest versions of PowerPoint. This feature allows us to create an interactive 3D model of the Earth, which can be rotated to display information about different countries.

Step 1: Inserting the 3D Model (00:00 - 01:26)

First, we need to insert the 3D model of the Earth into our PowerPoint slide. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Add a new slide.
  2. Go to Insert > Illustrations > 3D Models.
  3. In the search bar, type Earth and press the Enter key.
  4. Select the 3D model of the Earth and click on Insert.

The 3D model of the Earth will now be inserted into your slide. You can rotate it in any direction and adjust its size as per your requirement.

Step 2: Positioning the 3D Model (01:26 - 02:33)

Next, we need to position the 3D model on the slide. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Place the 3D model in the center of the slide.
  2. Rotate the model to focus on the country you want to display information about.

Step 3: Adding Country Information (02:33 - 07:52)

Now, we can add information about the country. Here’s how:

  1. Insert a rectangle shape with rounded top corners.
  2. Rotate the rectangle shape to the right by 90 degrees.
  3. Adjust the size of the rectangle to match the height of the 3D model.
  4. Send the rectangle to the back so that it doesn’t overlap with the 3D model.
  5. Add a title to the rectangle (this will be the name of the country).
  6. Insert a table into the rectangle to display the country’s statistics (such as size, economy, and GDP).

Step 4: Highlighting the Country (07:52 - 09:45)

To make it clear which country we’re talking about, we can add a pin to the 3D model. Here’s how:

  1. Go to Insert > 3D Models.
  2. In the search bar, type pin and press the Enter key.
  3. Select the 3D model of a pin and click on Insert.
  4. Adjust the size of the pin and place it on the country you’re displaying information about.

Step 5: Adding More Countries (09:45 - 13:04)

To add more countries, simply duplicate the slide and repeat steps 2 to 4 for each new country.

This is a simple and effective way to display country statistics using PowerPoint’s 3D model feature. Remember, all the elements are completely editable, so you can customize them as per your requirement.

Note

Please note that the 3D models feature is only available in PowerPoint versions from 2019 onwards. If you don’t see this feature in your version of PowerPoint, it means you’re using an older version.
